Digital radio for authorities (BOS) is used by all authorities and organizations responsible for security. It offers a nation wide standardized and exhaustive network. In practice that means that for example the federal police in Frankfurt am Main can communicate with the federal police in Potsdam as well as with regional polices, fire brigades, rescue services and other participants.
